Extravagance From Nowhere

S cripture
Hosea 1: 7 Yet I will show love to the house of Judah; and I will save them—not by bow, sword or battle, or by horses and horsemen, but by the LORD their God."

O bservations
I am seeing that God chooses to love. What an amazing thing that God chose to love me. This is love “that while we were yet sinners God loved us.”
God expresses His love through deliverance. We have no hope of deliverance outside of His love and power.
God’s deliverance comes from sources that He chooses and his choice is to deliver us in ways that cannot be explained by man or duplicated by his creativity.

A pplication
My job is to remember that God loves me so much that He went to extraordinary and extravagant measures to rescue me. “ God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”. Why would I ever expect God to be anything but extraordinary, extravagant and amazing in His demonstration of His love toward me? Why would I ever expect anything less than for Him to deliver me.

P rayer
Oh God, today I begin this day with the confidence and trust that my life is your hands I have the confidence that you will come and deliver me. Lord your pattern in my life, in your word and in all the earth around me is that your deliverance will be extraordinary, extravagant and amazing. In this I rest, Amen.
