I Can Fly

Well if the "Dark Knight" caused me to think of yesterdays post on hell. Guess what? In Tampa today is "Red Bull's Flutag". Flutag is a bunch of people who create all kinds of pseudo flying machines and jump off a thrity foot high launch over the river in downtown Tampa. I don't guess they fly as much as they fall, but whatever. I also thought of the words to a very old song "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines". I know another song about flying:

Some glad morning when this life is oer'
I'll fly away
To a home on God's celestial shore
I'll fly away.

As sobering as the "the dark night" is, exhilarating is the only word for they hope of my life, one of the foundations of my faith, Heaven. Hell is real and Heaven is just as real. Just as yesterday I won't spend a lot of time on the biblical defense. I don't need to, it is there. I just want to say count me in the number that know and believe that Jesus is coming soon.

He is, and I am looking for Him. It is the epitome of everything that I believe. When we die we go to be with Jesus and if we are alive when He returns we go in the rapture. I believe the rapture is imminent. 2000 years ago the writers of the New Testament believed that it was. They had every reason to, Jesus told His followers He would come and get them. They thought today. Count me in that number too. I believe He will come and back and it could be before I go out to dinner with friends today.

AND ANOTHER THING, no more pain, no more death, no more war. Jesus is going to bring us into a new world prepared for those who love Him where we will enjoy unfettered relationship with Him and His family for eternity.

That word eternity is just as long when I talk about Heaven as it is when I talk about hell. Heaven will be wonderful. I grew up singing songs about Heaven and right now they are filling my mind. I am so excited.

Well, I don't know if I will go to the Flutag or not. I would like to, it sounds like fun. I do know that I am going to Heaven and it could be today. My sincere hope is that you are going with me.

I Thessalonians 4:13Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. 14We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18Therefore encourage each other with these words.
